Detox Day 1

So here we start detox. Weighed Wednesday morning and had only gained 3-4 pounds from my last days, which I was happy. I was allowed eggs/egg whites for breakfast, and the rest of the day red meat and salad with their proprietary salad dressing. The salad can only be green things like lettuce, cucumbers, green peppers, green onion, & spinach and must be raw. No salt or sodium seasoning, basically only onion & garlic powder or spices without salt or oil. No condiments - except the salad dressing. I was wondering to myself how hard this was going to be, but actually it was quite easy and it was good. I did not realize that eggs could be good with only onion and garlic powder, along with steak, roast & 8% fat Laura's ground beef.

The day actually went pretty good. I had put a roast in at midnight and it was wonderful by the time I actually ate it for lunch. You have to drink 8 glasses of water with you want to loose weight as much as you can, so I did my 8 glasses. I did not have anything except water the first day, but you're allowed herbal tea and 24 oz of diet caffeine free soda.

All in all today was rated good and I can start to see a glimmer of the new me in my mind...

Pre-Detox

I start De-tox tomorrow. I have spent the last 4 days eating foods that I will not be allowed for 62 weeks, and may never want again - I hope. I had a cheeseburger and fries, pecan pancakes at Cracker Barrel, pizza from Vito's, prime rib dinner at Longhorns, and tonight for the last hurrah - Don Pablo's dip sampler, enchiladas and corn casserole. It has been a glorious end to what I used to eat. I'm looking forward to the changing me....

My Weight Loss Journey for the last time....

I am starting this blog to watch my weight loss journey to my goal weight. I have a lot of weight to lose, more that I would really like most people to know. To be honest, I have 185 pounds to lose. I have been carrying this good size other human around with me for quite a long time. I am ready to say - enough is enough.

My niece came to me with a program that she just signed up for called Medical Weight Loss Clinic. It has been in existence for over 25 years. My other half and I went to a consultation to see what it was all about... I loved the fact they do labs at the beginning (blood & urine analysis) and check blood pressure and weight at least 3 times per week. They also said they stalk you if you don't come in and I said - sign me up! I need to go through something like this and be held accountable with no excuses. So, here starts my journey with Medical Weight Loss Clinic. I signed up on Saturday April 9th, 2011. I have until Wednesday to eat whatever I wanted and then I start detox.
